Cardinals re-sign pass rusher Baron Browning

The Arizona Cardinals are re-signing pass rusher Baron Browning, Arizona Sports confirmed Sunday morning.

NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport first reported the news.

The two-year deal is worth $15 million and can be up to $19 million, Rapoport reported. It will expire after the 2026 season.

Browning joined the Cardinals as a midseason trade acquisition from the Denver Broncos. In return for Browning’s services, Arizona shipped off a 2025 sixth-round pick.

In his eight games (one start) with Arizona in 2024, Browning registered two sacks, four tackles for loss and three QB hits.

Despite the abbreviated season with Arizona, Browning finished fifth in quarterback pressures with 21.

“I know he’s an every-down player. For us, that position is set edges, rush and a little bit of drop, so we feel really comfortable with his skillset and what he can do,” head coach Jonathan Gannon told Arizona Sports’ Burns & Gambo on Nov. 4 after Arizona traded for Browning at the NFL trade deadline.

Browning returns to an outside linebackers room led by Zaven Collins, who paced Arizona with five sacks and 33 QB pressures last year. Xavier Thomas and BJ Ojulari, who is recovering from a torn ACL suffered in training camp, are two more names to watch.

Browning entered the league with the Denver Broncos as a third-round pick (No. 105 overall) in the 2021 NFL Draft. He was initially viewed as an inside linebacker before moving to pass rusher.

Across four seasons and 43 games played for Denver, the veteran pass rusher registered 9.5 sacks, 15 tackles for loss, two forced fumbles and 22 QB hits.
