A 25-YEAR-OLD from London has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after an acid attack in Plymouth last month.
Detectives have been searching for two men they believe may have thrown the highly dangerous substance in a “brutal and terrifying attack” on February 21.
Police announced today that a man has been arrested in connection with the incident in London.
He is currently being held in police custody as police continue to investigate the near-fatal attack.
The victim, a man in his 30s, remains in a serious condition in hospital.
Detective Superintendent Ben Davies said: “I would like to thank the local community and wider public for their support and patience while we have been carrying out our enquiries into the incident.
“As part of our ongoing enquiries, we’re keen to hear from anyone who has relevant information about the incident or those involved.
“Anybody who has yet to speak to police who may have information or CCTV or dashcam footage is asked to contact police on 101 or via our website quoting log 69 of 21 February.”
