Singer-songwriter Matt Nathanson was in the middle of a show in Morristown, N.J., when he experienced a surprising interruption—a power outage.
While this might throw some performers off, leaving them unsure of what to do next, Nathanson smoothly gave fans an experience they'll never forget.

Nathanson shared a clip of the special night on TikTok, captioning it, "WHEN THE LIGHTS GO OUT IN NEW JERSEY. #tour #is #life."
In the clip, Nathanson strummed his acoustic guitar as he sang his song "Come On Get Higher," with the crowd singing along with him. In text pasted over the video, he explained that the "Power went out at the show in New Jersey so we had ourselves a campfire sing along."
He then joked, "And even though my 14-year-old daughter doesn't really ever acknowledge that I even play music, I ended with a snippet of one of her favorite songs in the hopes that it shows up in her feed ?."
The video ended with Nathanson showing off his impressive vocal range as he sang "Defying Gravity," a popular tune from Wicked.

Nathanson's current tour around North America is set to conclude in April.
