Rick Astley fans weren't expecting the '80s pop icon's most recent cover—but they're definitely here for the crossover.
The "Never Gonna Give You Up" singer took to TikTok on Sunday, March 2, to share a video of himself singing and playing Chappell Roan's "Pink Pony Club" on an acoustic guitar. The 59-year-old wore a beige blazer over a black shirt in the clip, pausing to don a bright red cowboy hat toward the end of his performance.

Commenters couldn't get over Astley's take on the hit song, with one joking, "Did I just get Rick roaned?"
"Ima gonna keep on dancing at the Rick Astley Club," someone else quipped.
"what in the generational convergence??" a third fan gushed.
"This version sounds like David Bowie. Love it!" somebody declared, with another joking, "Rick Astley I was unaware of your game."
"Things we didn't know we needed: This," added someone else.
Astley recently opened up to People about his own experiences as a hitmaker, particularly after the now-classic "Rickrolling" meme went viral in 2007.
“I’ve never really appreciated what it is, I think, because I’ve just had to sort of shut down that part of my brain,” he explained. “I was lucky enough that it happened when I was a lot older, and I was like, ‘The guy in the video, yes, I know it’s my physicality, but it’s not me.’ I’ve got enough distance.”
“I understand a lot of artists would freak and would have a meltdown if somebody instigated this thing,” Astley went on to say, noting that he “appreciates the life it gave me.”
“It introduced that song to a lot of people and a generation that would have no clue, and that’s kind of gold dust really,” he added. “I’ve learned to appreciate that it’s part of my DNA.”
