Finding an upgrade on the offensive trenches is certainly among the options the Arizona Cardinals are looking toward at the 2025 NFL Draft, and keeping their eyes on at the NFL Draft Combine.
Among those potential pathways could be Ohio State offensive linemen Donovan Jackson (guard) and Josh Simmons (tackle) — who would add to the Cardinals’ in-house stockpile of Buckeyes along with wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr., offensive tackle Paris Johnson Jr. and recently hired former Ohio State offensive line coach Justin Frye.
Simmons and Jackson are ranked 31 and 32 respectively in NFL Network draft analyst Daniel Jeremiah’s top 50 prospect list. Simmons is ranked as the top offensive lineman and is No. 8 overall on ESPN’s prospect rankings, while Jackson sits at 41.

Simmons measured at 6-foot-4.7 inches tall, weighed at 317 pounds and notched a 10-inch wide hands, 33 inch long arms and an 82-inch wingspan. Simmons is recovering from a torn patellar tendon during Ohio State’s sixth game of the season against Oregon in October.

Cardinals not underestimating impact of upgrading line of scrimmage
He hopes to work out for scouts in time for his pro day in April.
“I’ll probably be cut loose mid-April to give everybody a good pro day,” Simmons said.
NFL Insider Ian Rapoport reported on Sunday that Simmons had positive medical evaluations.
He noted at the combine that Frye was a major part of why he chose to transfer to Ohio State, and Simmons praised Frye for delivering on promises that sold he sold to him.
“He showed me exactly step-by-step: This is what we’re going to do first when you get here,” Simmons said. “This is what we’re going to do once you get the basics down. And let’s emphasize it, put it all together, this is what we’re going to do.”
Jackson, who played both guard and tackle for the Buckeyes, noted Saturday that most teams see him as a guard — but were still impressed by his play at tackle. He also confirmed that he had a formal interview with the Cardinals.
“I just like playing offensive line,” Jackson said in response to being asked if he prefers playing tackle or guard.
Jackson didn’t participate in the 40-yard dash, vertical jump or broad jump, but did the pass rush prop and the wave drills.

Other possible targets
Kelvin Banks Jr. (OT, Texas) was mocked as Mel Kiper Jr.’s top-rated tackle back in January, as the ESPN draft guru had Banks going at No. 10. Since then, however, has dropped a tad to No. 19 on ESPN’s rankings and could go in the mid-to-late first round. He ranked near in the middle among offensive lineman in the 40-yard dash (5.16), 10-yard split (1.79), vertical jump (32 inches) and broad jump (8 feet, 8 inches).
Tyler Booker (OG, Alabama) is at No. 33 in ESPN’s list, finished last among the O-linemen in the 10-yard split, posting a 1.96, and finished second to last in the 40 (5.38). He was also last in the broad jump at 7-feet-10-inches. Booker was asked to do snaps at center as well.

Armand Membou (OT, Missouri), impressed with the top mark in the broad jump at 9-feet-7-inches, second in the 40 at 4.91 and fourth in the vert at 34 inches.
Arizona’s Jonah Savaiinaea scooted for one of the best 40-yard times at 4.95, good for third among linemen, and a 10-yard split of 1.72 that was also good for second. The Wildcat played both guard and tackle and has garnered some interest with his versatility.
