MCDONALD’S has brought back a beloved breakfast item after years of fan pleading – and it’s going nationwide for the first time.
The iconic fast food chain cut the item four years ago, but a diehard group of fans showed up in their thousands to ask for it back, per Mail Online.
McDonald’s has officially brought back their bagels in at least 1,700 stores across the US, and fans are overjoyed.
The popular product was so highly requested that a Facebook group called Where’s my McDonald’s Bagel? formed with over 25,000 members.
There are four bagel varieties for fans to enjoy- three come with bacon, sausage or steak, and the fourth is just egg and cheese.
It is confirmed that all four do contain cheese.
Jared Hefenfinger, an admin of the Facebook group, said: “People in the group are sharing their local franchisees’ contact information and saying, ‘Hey, send out messages or call these people.’
“I can kind of tell you where they’re going to be next, based on where the group is adding members from. I messaged one of the franchisees in Minnesota.
“He told me that in the last three weeks, they’ve gotten more calls than they have in the last three years.”
It is not known how much of a role the group played in saving the bagels.
Fans on other social media sites are also excited.
One person on X said: “McDonald’s bagels are back… the world is healing.”
A second customer cried: “Taking my official victory lap in my 4-year war against McDonald’s. Bagels are BACK.”
Prices are expected to vary for the bagels depending on store location.
The bacon and sausage bagels are selling for $4.69 in some outlets, while the steak is more expensive at $5.39.
Customers all over the US have enjoyed their return so far.
This includes foodies in California, Pennsylvania, Nashville, Louisiana, Florida, Tennessee, Iowa, West Virginia, California, North Carolina, Ohio, Alabama and New York.

“We’re always listening to their cravings and taking their feedback into account as we make menu decisions.
“Though bagel sandwiches are not available nationwide, they are a regional offering and currently available at participating McDonald’s in several markets.”
The bagels were scrapped from the menu in 2020 as the company tried to simplify their menu during COVID.
The US Sun has also reported on an incoming McDonald’s deal to celebrate 50 years of their breakfast menu.
For one day in March, customers will be able to grab an egg McMuffin Sausage McMuffin with Egg for just $1, per Bloomberg.
This will only be available on the app.
The $1 deal is coming to McDonald’s only on March 2.
From March 3-30, customers will be able to enjoy a buy-one-get-one-free deal for the Sausage McMuffin with egg.
