Paul McCartney had some exciting news to share with his fans this week as he revealed a new career update on social media.
The Beatles alum posted the announcement, which involved his other popular band Paul McCartney and the Wings, on Instagram on Wednesday, Feb. 26.

The video featured in the post included throwback footage of McCartney’s time performing and recording with his 1970s rock band. As McCartney, 82, explained in his Instagram caption, he will be releasing a book about his time with the group later this year.
The new book will be titled Wings: The Story of a Band on the Run. McCartney is the credited author for the project, which will also include an introduction by historian and writer Ted Widmer. The book is due out on Tuesday, Nov. 4.
Wings: The Story of a Band on the Run was written with help from “dozens of hours of interviews with Paul and numerous key players in the band’s orbit,” according to a description of the book on the “Maybe I’m Amazed” singer’s website. It will document McCartney’s early years with Wings, which he formed shortly after the Beatles broke up, through the group’s dissolution in the early 1980s.

Fans reacted to the news with excitement and many left celebratory messages in the post’s comment section.
“Can’t wait to get this book!” one fan wrote as another agreed that the book was “A NEED, I LOVE WINGS ?.”
