For the second straight day, the Chicago Cubs worked a late tie (this time less comeback-y and more oops-y) to stay undefeated on the Spring Training season. When they finally drop a Cactus League game, these guys are gonna feel crushed.
#FlyTheT:
Jordan Wicks got the start, and although Tim Anderson got him early, Wicks mostly looked fine. Just keep on stretching out.
All of Ryan Pressly, Nate Pearson, Keegan Thompson, Ethan Roberts, and Daniel Palencia followed with a scoreless inning of relief (and at least one K apiece). Brooks Kriske gave up a two-run homer to Angels youngster Kyren Paris in the 9th, which is what yielded the tie.

— Marquee Sports Network (@WatchMarquee) February 27, 2025Kyle Tucker and Seiya Suzuki went a combined 0-6 with four strikeouts today, so they are obviously cooked (or maybe it doesn’t matter at all and they will of course be fine).
The swing very much looks like Kris Bryant, but like Matt said, this is NOT a player comp for Jonathon Long:
Reminds me of young KB with the swing (again, *not a comp*; just in terms of the similar mechanical look). pic.twitter.com/NFxtg6O127
