We’re in the midst of a soda revolution, and it seems like every day, a new, better-for-you soda option or brand is popping up seemingly out of nowhere. Legacy corporations like Coca-Cola have entered the fray, new-comers Poppi and Olipop have continued to sustain regular success, Halfday Iced Tea just unveiled a buzzy new brand refresh, and even Liquid Death launched its own soda-flavored sparkling water seemingly hinting at the ongoing fervor.
This moment of soda industry disruption comes amidst the backdrop of a new age of consumers grappling with seeing the impacts of chronic illnesses and disease linked to diets high in sugar, calories, alcohol and general ignorance of the ingredients in the food and drinks we consume altogether. Today, shoppers prefer brand transparency over flashy colors and mystifying marketing campaigns. People want to be treated like people, and the way we shop is evolving to further support the vision that consumers' voices are powerful—even if it doesn’t always feel like it.

With that in mind, these new better-for-you sodas seem democratizing in the way they grant access to fans who crave the familiar comforts of soda without all the excess. Sure, you could argue that soda isn’t a necessity, but we’re conditioned to seek enjoyment in all forms, whether that be a soda every now and then or a 6-mile hike on a secluded nature trail. At least a 6-pack of soda is more easily attainable—am I right? Either way, the choice is up to you, bestie.

Regardless, the better-for-you soda trend continues, and Spindrift just announced that they’re entering the arena, too. According to @markie_devo the wildly popular sparkling water brand announced a slate of delicious new sodas that fans are losing their minds over. The buzzy new lineup includes five deliciously refreshing flavors—Shirley Temple, Strawberry Shortcake, Orange Cream Float, Concord Freeze and Ginger Ale. Each can contains less than 8-grams of naturally occurring fruit juice not from concentrate and bubbly carbonation.

Fans were quick to express their excitement, with the overwhelming sentiment being, “Literally all the flavors sound good ?” Others even seemed to agree that "Spindrift is the best sparkling water brand, so i'll def try this."
In terms of where to buy, you can find this buzzy new soda on Spindrift’s website and Amazon, with a launch at select stores expected later this year. Not that we’re picking sides in the increasingly tense better-for-you-soda war, but we have to agree that these might take the cake. Although, it’s hard to compete with Perfy’s Pepperoni Pizza Soda. Your move, Pepsi!
