When your grandpa is legendary skateboarder Tony Hawk, it will only be a matter of time before you get your first lesson.
The 10-time X Games gold medalist shared a sweet snap on social media of himself with his first grandchild, five-month-old Ronin Walker Cobain Hawk, that immediately had fans melting.

Hawk, who has declared Ronin “My favorite grandson,” shared a photo of himself sitting on a skateboard while holding the baby, captioning the snap, “What happens when all of your kids can skate on their own and no longer rely on you to give them rides? You wait until they have their own kids. Circles (wheels?) of life. ????? #nofilter.”

Ronin is the son of Riley Hawk, the oldest of Tony’s four children, and his wife, Frances Bean Cobain, the only daughter of musician Courtney Love and late Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain.
Model Frances and pro skateboarder Riley tied the knot in October 2023.
Fans were delighted by Tony’s post on Instagram, flooding the comments to write, “Awwww papa hawk! I get the feeling you’ll be a natural!” and declaring him “Grandpa goals ???.”
“Imagine Tony Hawk being your grandpa!!! So cool!!! ??,” mused one fan, prompting others to chime in that “His other grandpa was pretty cool too.”
Earlier this month, Tony spoke with People about the “only rule” he’s been given when it comes to putting Ronin on a skateboard. He shared that his wife, Catherine Goodman, has asked that he not stand up on a board while holding Ronin, but it’s not for the reason you’d expect.
“Because I have to leave that for my son to do with him first,” the proud grandfather told the outlet.
