Serving as the bat boy for a Major League Baseball team is typically a badge of honor — or at the very least a core memory — for most fans. That’s typically not the case for professional ballplayer.
Take it from the Toronto Blue Jays, who are using the position as punishment for the worst manager in their team’s fantasy football league. On Saturday, that meant starting pitcher Chris Bassitt was relegated from the dugout to sitting just outside and assisting the team’s hitters with all their needs.
What’s worse is that he had to wear a custom jersey with his fantasy team’s record on the back. Which means now the whole world knows he went an embarrassing 4-10 last season.

It should at least make Tim Mayza feel a lot better after he suffered the same fate with the Blue Jays after going 4-10 last year.
Bassitt should consider doing the brave thing and showing us all his roster. At the very least, he might get some much-needed advice before next season.
