From Jeff Goldblum's turkey sandwich to Tom Selleck's tuna melt, it seems that everywhere you look, there's another Hollywood celebrity who has their own interpretation of a classic sandwich. And luckily, we're here to test them all.
Before this week, I had no idea that legendary Hollywood actor Harrison Ford—yes, Indiana Jones himself—had a special grilled cheese recipe to share with the world. Ford’s take on the classic molten sandwich earns a well-deserved spot on our list of must-try celebrity creations.

What Is Harrison Ford's Grilled Cheese?
Ben Ford, Harrison's chef-son dropped an interesting nugget during an interview with Mashed: that his famous dad used to make him grilled cheese sandwiches that Ben is now "nostalgic" for as an adult. What set this superstar sandwich apart from other grilled cheese sandwich as Harrison Ford's use of two key ingredients: Worcestershire sauce and sliced tomato.
This sandwich is basically Harrison Ford’s rendition of Welsh rarebit, the humble British cheese on toast dish that leans heavily on Worcestershire for depth of flavor. I love anything Harrison Ford, so I knew I had to find out if his grilled cheese is truly worth eating.

How to Make Harrison Ford’s Grilled Cheese
Start by buttering both sides of your bread. If you’re a mayo person, you can swap that in for the butter—it crisps up the bread beautifully in a hot frying pan. Next, layer on your cheddar slices. Then layer on slices of tomato. Finish with a heavy-handed pour of Worcestershire over the whole thing. Once your sandwich is assembled, heat a pan over medium-low heat and toast the first side until golden and crispy. Flip it, and toast until both sides are golden brown and the cheese is melted.

I’ll admit, I was skeptical about Worcestershire sauce in grilled cheese, but it delivers a serious oomph. The first time I made this sandwich, I was too light-handed and barely noticed it. The second time I went full send, and while I had tomato juice and Worcestershire dripping down my arm as I ate, I honestly have zero regrets.

The Worcestershire sauce adds a deep, savory and slightly tangy note that makes your basic grilled cheese feel way more interesting. The tomato is the perfect supporting player here. It adds a fresh, slightly acidic contrast to the richness of the cheese and a meaty texture that breaks up all that melted cheese and crispy bread. The result? A more-than-decent grilled cheese that both kids and adults would love (much like Ford's movies).

Tips for Making Harrison Ford's Grilled Cheese
Get cheesy. Ford uses sharp cheddar, so that's what I grabbed too but you can easily swap out your favorites for this sandwich. Slice your tomatoes horizontally. This way, the slices hold together better and don’t turn into a total slippery mess when you bite into your sandwich. It works every time!Up Next:
