Heather Locklear Addresses ‘Melrose Place’ Characters Revealing Fashion

Heather Locklear is revisiting a comment she made about her Melrose Place character's wardrobe.

The 63-year-old actress (who portrayed Amanda Woodward in the series) recently reunited co-stars Courtney Thorne-Smith, Daphne Zuniga, and Laura Leighton for a recent two-part episode of their re-watch podcast, Still the Place.

During the appearance, the actresses harked back on their time filming the original series that aired for several years in the late 1990s, discussing their fashion, fan interactions, "the big no-nos on set," and everything in between.

Among the several surprising admissions was one from Locklear, who built on a previous confession she made regarding the series. During a Q&A at 90s Con in Daytona Beach, Fla., in September 2024, the actress revealed that she kept "everything" from her wardrobe on the show.

"Is that wrong?" she added with a laugh. "But [I took] everything, from shoes to the old jackets, the skirts."

The actress also said at the time that she shares the items with her daughter since they're the same size. But now, it's been made clear that not everything is up for grabs for the 20-something-year-old, Ava Sambora, who she shares with her ex-husband, Bon Jovi rocker Richie Sambora.

Joking that her skirts just got "shorter and shorter," over the seven years and nearly 200 episodes she filmed for the sudsy drama, Locklear now admits that at certain points she felt "exposed" while filming.

"I can almost feel my crack," she told the hosts, noting she also didn't wear pantyhose on set. Brave!

Other notable revelations made about the show's fashion included the claim that producers hated it when the actresses filmed with purses because it "raised a problem of where they were going to set it." They also didn't like sunglasses for similar reasons.

"When we had our photo shoot for the podcast, and we're out by the pool, Daphne pulled out sunglasses and she's like 'no sunglasses!'" Thorne-Smith recalled, noting it's something they can still laugh at "even now, 30 years later."

Anyone feeling a little nostalgic now that Locklear has gone and stirred up all your favorite memories from the show, just know that more could be coming soon as the entire cast has wholly agreed to return for the reboot, which has not yet been given a release date.

As for whether or not Locklear will bring back some of the OG fashion with her expected return to the series, well, we'll just have to wait and see!
