Former cricket captain Sourav Ganguly involved in car crash, stays uninjured

Former Indian cricket captain Sourav Ganguly was involved in a car accident on February 21, 2025, when a vehicle in his convoy collided with a truck on the Durgapur Expressway. Fortunately, Mr. Ganguly was unharmed. He was en route to an event in Bardhaman district, West Bengal, when the incident occurred. The accident took place near Dantanpur, a rural area in Hooghly, when a lorry abruptly overtook Ganguly’s convoy, forcing his driver to brake suddenly. This caused a collision involving multiple vehicles, including Ganguly’s Range Rover. As mentioned, Ganguly and the other occupants of the convoy were unharmed, though two cars sustained minor damage. After a brief delay of about 10 minutes, Ganguly continued his journey to Burdwan University, where he fulfilled his commitments, engaging with students and dignitaries.

Sourav Ganguly’s daughter survives car accident a month before father’s incident

Not long ago, in January, Ganguly’s daughter, Sana, was also involved in a car accident in Kolkata’s Behala area. A bus traveling from Kolkata to Raichak collided with her vehicle from behind in the Behala Chowrasta area. Fortunately, she escaped uninjured.

    Speaking more about Sourav Ganguly, he is currently the Director of Cricket for JSW Sports, overseeing cricketing properties, including the Delhi teams in the IPL and WPL, as well as the Pretoria Capitals franchise in SA20. But most importantly, he is actively involved in mentoring the Delhi Capitals Women’s team in the ongoing Women’s Premier League 2025.
