After a trip to the playoffs, the Denver Broncos are looking to retool their roster and make a deeper playoff run next season. With key positions needing upgrades, the team will have to be aggressive in free agency. Here are the top five free agents the Broncos should target to help them continue to build in 2025.

The Denver Broncos will have wide receiver circled as one of their most significant needs this offseason. With a healthy $34,776,255 in available cap space, before cuts take place, they could make a splash at the top of the market and give Bo Nix another big-time wide receiver if the market’s two top receivers don’t remain with their current clubs.
The Bengals and Buccaneers are working to keep Tee Higgins and Chris Godwin, but if that doesn’t shake out, both can become free agents (barring a franchise tag) in a couple of weeks. If one of those star wideouts hits the open market, Denver could splash there and add a legitimate WR1 to a receivers room that already includes Courtland Sutton, Marvin Mims Jr., and youngster Troy Franklin.
2. Jevon Holland — S, Miami Dolphins
Despite a down season in 2024, Jevon Holland has been one of the better safeties in the league since being drafted in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft out of Oregon. In 2023, Holland was PFF’s third-ranked safety with a stellar 90.4 overall grade. Denver’s passing defense was in the bottom third last season despite an incredible season by cornerback Patrick Surtain II. Holland could be a solid upgrade for them at safety.
3. Keenan Allen — WR, Chicago Bears
If the top two targets don’t hit the market, the Broncos could choose a bridge option in veteran wide receiver Keenan Allen. Allen was healthy most of the season in Chicago and came on late, turning in another solid season. He could be had for somewhere in the $12-15 million AAV range and could provide Bo Nix with a solid, short-yardage option for a season or two.

Denver will likely be in the market for a running back, and Najee Harris is probably the best long-term solution for the position in this free-agency class. Harris will be 27 next season and is coming off of a solid four-season run in Pittsburgh in which he rushed for 4,316 yards (fifth most during that time) and is excellent after contact, racking up 3,203 yards after contact (fourth most during that time). If Denver prefers a shorter-term, cheaper addition at running back, Nick Chubb and J.K. Dobbins will also be available.
5. Dre Greenlaw — LB, San Francisco 49ers
Denver needs linebacker help, and Dre Greenlaw is a defender who could come with a lighter price tag after playing only 34 snaps in 2024 after recovering from an Achilles suffered in San Francisco’s loss to the Chiefs in the Super Bowl the previous season. Greenlaw is an all-around interior linebacker who excels in coverage and can thrive in the run-defense game.
