My partner is a multi-hyphenate enigma, but if you asked him, he’d probably default to simply saying he works in tech. True as that might be, he actually has an incredible interior design eye and could, at any point in time, decide to completely pivot to doing that as a full-time job. He’s meticulous and discriminating in the way he looks at spaces, and his style is timeless and rustic, with modern accents here and there. His ability to holistically look at each room and eke out its subtle nuances is inspiring and magical to watch as a passive observer, but being a passenger in the process is one of my life’s greatest pleasures.

While the style of our home is a collaborative process between the both of us, he drives the focus and sets the tone for each room, often softening my grandiose ideas with his discerning and expertly trained eye. There’s a reason he calls himself the House Director—although that’s still up for debate.
Beyond just staging furniture or finding the right shade of paint, he’s great at picking out statement pieces that most people wouldn’t give a second thought—like chairs with pull out storage ottomans. Even the bowl we store our produce in has a certain look, and if that sounds like your kind of vibe then you’ll love the latest find from Aldi.

The budget friendly retailer added a gorgeous Ceramic Scalloped Pedestal Bowl by Kirkton House to stores and it looks eerily similar to a significantly more expensive offering from Crate & Barrel. This stunning decorative bowl comes in a creamy white colorway and features elegant pleating around the exterior that almost resembles a shell. The texture is unexpected, but subtle enough to make fruits and vegetables pop or house potpourri in style.
Cost-wise this offering from Aldi will only set you back a meager $12.99, which is a staggering discount compared to Crate & Barrel's $149.95 iteration. Although the more expensive of the two is made out of genuine marble, no one will even notice the difference. Unless you’re my partner, of course, but he’d still probably go for the cheaper option, too. Did I forget to mention he’s also budget-savvy? Swoon.
