CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) – Fourteen vehicles are damaged and nearly $200,000 in property loss has been reported after a large fire engulfed a vehicle inside an apartment building parking deck overnight, according to the Charlotte Fire Department.
Reports of the large vehicle fire started coming in at 12:50 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 20, at a parking deck located in the 3500 block of Philemon Avenue.
Charlotte Fire reported Engine 7 arrived at the scene by 12:54 a.m. to find a car fully engulfed in flames on the third floor of the parking deck, with the fire rapidly spreading to nearby vehicles.

Firefighters worked to suppress the intense flames while Rescue 11 searched the area, confirming that no one was inside the affected vehicles.
Despite the swift response from first responders, Charlotte Fire said the intense heat and flames caused significant damage.
A total of 14 vehicles were damaged, and the parking deck itself sustained structural harm. The fire was eventually brought under control at 1:35 a.m., Charlotte Fire reported.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported. Both firefighters and residents were unharmed, and no residents have been displaced due to the fire.
