A fire at a battery storage plant that went up in flames last month brought a warning from Monterey County to residents near the Moss Landing Harbor to remain indoors and close windows Tuesday night.

Authorities said they were monitoring the air quality.
Authorities in the warning urged residents to take the safety measures of staying indoors and closing windows “out of an abundance of caution.”
The county did not have any updates on the situation early Wednesday.
A massive fire burned at the facility on Jan. 16 after its internal fire suppression system failed. An earlier emergency alert message from Monterey County said Tuesday’s fire began in the burned out area from that first fire.
A group of Monterey County residents filed a lawsuit in Alameda County against several companies for damages following the large fire at the Moss Landing Battery Plant on Jan. 16.
The facility is located of state Highway 1 and Dolan Road.
