Country singer Pam Tillis walked a little slower than usual as she stepped into the Grand Ole Opry circle Tuesday night.
The powerhouse vocalist who, in 2025, is celebrating 25 years as a member of the Opry was wearing a heavy, orthopedic walking boot. Many wanted a health update.

She joked that she was "hoppy" to be there but didn't share too much about her injury. Fortunately, it didn't seem too serious.
Backstage prior to the show, she teased that she was "not going to tell what really happened. I'm just going to say that I was running with the bulls in Pamplona."

An hour later when she kicked off the live radio broadcast, she was a bit more forthcoming with the cheering audience packed into the Grand Ole Opry House.
"I wish I had a more exciting story," she said, repeating the line about running with the bulls and adding, "I'd like to say I was skipping a light fandango in Tierra del Fuego. But no, I just fell over my damn shoe."

The daughter of country icon Mel Tillis, who attended her first Opry show when she was one and first performed when she was 8, sang three songs, including '90s radio staple "Summer Wine," an unexpected cover of Collective Soul's "Shine" and a brand-new song, "That's a Whole Other Bottle of Wine."
Prior to Tuesday night's broadcast, Tillis and fellow Opry member Ashley McBryde introduced the Opry NextStage class of 2025.
The program, which counts Lainey Wilson, Megan Moroney, Parker McCollum, Riley Green and Tenille Townes among its ranks, spotlights country music's rising talent.
The newest group includes seven acts: Avery Anna, Chayce Beckham, Dasha, Kaitlin Butts, Kashus Culpepper, Tigirlily Gold and Tucker Wetmore.
