The Los Angeles Philharmonic announced its 2025 Hollywood Bowl season on Tuesday, Feb. 18, with an eclectic slate of pop and rock acts, Broadway stars, classical favorites, jazz legends, and more.
Opening night at the Bowl arrives on June 7 and An Evening with Hugh Jackman that presents the Broadway and film star singing tunes from “The Greatest Showman,” “The Music Man,” and more backed by conductor Thomas Wilkins, the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, and YOLA, the Youth Orchestra of Los Angeles.
A week later, the LA Phil’s new partnership with Blue Note Records, takes over the Bowl for the inaugural Blue Note Jazz Festival, formerly the Hollywood Bowl Jazz Festival (June 14-15). In addition to jazz acts including Stanley Clarke N 4Ever, Joe Lovano’s Paramount Quartet, New Orleans trumpeter Keyon Harrold, and singer Dee Dee Bridgewater, the festival also includes artists as diverse as Grace Jones, the Isley Brothers, De La Soul, and Willow.
Actor-singer Cynthia Erivo, a current Oscar nominee for “Wicked,” comes to the Bowl for three nights in August to perform the role of Jesus in Andrew Lloyd Weber and Tim Rice’s rock musical “Jesus Christ Superstar.” (Aug. 1-3).

ExpandThe summer also features the usual assortment of nights built around movie scores including nights featuring “Jaws” (Jul 5), Bugs Bunny cartoons (July 11-12), “Jurassic Park” (Aug. 9), the Bowl’s fifth celebration of Black movie soundtracks (Sept. 10), and the annual “Sound of Music” sing-along show (Sept. 20).
Pop and rock shows include such varied bookings as the second year of the Roots Picnic Experience (June 8), Rhiannon Giddens presenting American Tunes, a survey of folk music that includes musicians including banjoist-actors Steve Martin and Ed Helms, and folk artists such as Alison Brown and Amythyst Kiah (June 18), and Earth, Wind & Fire playing the annual July Fourth Fireworks Spectacular backed by the Los Angeles Philharmonic (July 2-4)
July also includes shows by singer-songwriter John Fogerty (July 6), Colombian rock star Juanes (July 16), and two nights with Motown legend Diana Ross (July 25-26).
In August, Australian psychedelic rockers King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard get backing from the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra (Aug. 10), Alabama Shakes play their first Los Angeles show in eight years (Aug. 13), R&B and funk star Charlie Wilson teams up with Babyface (Aug. 27), and Cyndi Lauper’s farewell tour returns to Southern California for another two nights (Aug. 29-30)
Summer at the Bowl, of course, runs deep into September, which includes the French electronic band Air with the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra (Sept. 21), “Perfect Angel: The Definitive Minnie Riperton Tribute,” featuring her daughter Maya Rudolph and a host of jazz and soul stars (Sept. 24), and singer-pianist John Legend (Sept. 28).
Classical and jazz programs are also scattered across the summer nights at the Hollywood Bowl.
Gustavo Dudamel, the LA Phil’s music and artistic director, will conduct eight nights in August in what is his penultimate Bowl season before he leaves Los Angeles for the New York Philharmonic after the summer of 2026.
In addition to other guest conductors and classical masterpieces scattered through the summer, the season includes cellist Yo-Yo Ma collaborating with Beninese-French singer Angélique Kidjo on the intersections between classical and African music (Aug. 28), and jazz trumpeter Wynton Marsalis presenting the world premiere of his “Concerto for Orchestra,” a piece the LA Phil commissioned (Sept. 9)
Jazz pianist Herbie Hancock, the LA Phil’s creative chair for jazz, will also return to the Bowl this summer (Aug. 20), and smooth jazz saxophone star Dave Koz brings back his Summer Horns on a night shared with the Ohio Players, too (Aug. 31).

The Roots Picnic Experience tickets are currently on sale. Opening Night with Hugh Jackman tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 20. Alabama Shakes go on sale at 10 a.m. Feb. 28.
Tickets for the Blue Note Jazz Festival will be available starting at 10 a.m. March 4. The Bowl’s create-your-own packages can be purchased starting at 10 a.m. March 25, and the Hollywood Bowl box office opens for singe-show ticket sales at 10 a.m. May 6.
