AUSTIN (KXAN) -- Police said they need the public's help identifying the suspect in an attempted sexual assault on an east Austin trail earlier this month.
‘I will miss running alone’: Woman recounts sexual assault on Austin trailThe Austin Police Department Sex Crimes Unit released a sketch of the suspect Tuesday. The suspect was described by police as a Black male, possibly in his mid-20s, around 5'6"-5'9" in height and 200 lbs, with a "medium to heavy build" and no facial hair, per APD.
He was last seen wearing a black sweatshirt and black pants.

APD officers responded to a "Sex Crime Urgent" call in the 6900 block of FM 969 Road around 9:30 a.m. The victim told police a man "grabbed her sexually and then ran away," according to APD.
KXAN spoke to the victim days after the incident. She elected to remain anonymous but told KXAN she was on the Southern Walnut Creek Trail, a trail she frequented when it happened.

APD confirmed that case was the same as the one police released the sketch and details about Tuesday.
