Top 5 Atlanta Falcons Free Agent Targets

With free agency approaching, the Atlanta Falcons have key roster gaps to fill as they look to take the next step in 2025. From bolstering the pass rush to solidifying the offensive line, here are five potential free-agent targets who could make an immediate impact in Atlanta.

1. Khalil Mack — EDGE, Los Angeles Chargers

The Falcons won’t have much cap space this offseason, so Mack may be out of their spending range, but if they can get creative, he would provide them with a much-needed presence on the defensive line. Mack has enjoyed a late-career resurgence the past two seasons in Los Angeles, ranking fifth and sixth among all edge rushers according to PFF’s overall grades in 2024 and 2023, respectively. Mack will turn 34 next season, so he’s likely in line for a shorter-term, higher AAV deal, somewhere in the range of $22-24 million per season.

    2. Haason Reddick — EDGE, New York Jets

Haason Reddick could be a more realistic target for the Falcons in their quest to solidify their pass rush, with Reddick coming off of a season in which he missed the first part of the season with New York amid a contract holdout after being traded to the Jets from Philadelphia. Before his rocky 2024 season, Reddick was a reliable pass-rusher for several seasons in Philly. He could be a buy-low, high-return signing for a team like Atlanta, who is looking for a budget-friendly upgrade at that position.

    3. DeAndre Hopkins — WR, Kansas City Chiefs

Atlanta will probably be in the market for a third wide receiver to add to their one-two punch of Drake London and Darnell Mooney this offseason, and a veteran like DeAndre Hopkins could be a great addition, producing in the second or third wide receiver role and helping in the mentoring of second-year quarterback Michael Penix Jr. in 2025. Turning 33 next season, Hopkins has hinted that he’s not yet considering retirement and was still a productive receiver with a 77.8 PFF grade (26th) with the Chiefs in 2024.

    4. Dre Greenlaw — LB, San Francisco 49ers

Similar to the Haason Reddick fit, Dre Greenlaw is a defender who could come with a lighter price tag after playing only 34 snaps in 2024 after recovering from an Achilles suffered in San Francisco’s loss to the Chiefs in the Super Bowl the previous season. Greenlaw is an all-around interior linebacker who excels in coverage and can thrive in the run-defense game.

    5. Hollywood Brown — WR, Kansas City Chiefs

If DeAndre Hopkins sticks around in Kansas City or lands a contract elsewhere that’s too rich for the Falcons’ current cap situation, another impending free-agent wide receiver in Kansas City, Hollywood Brown, could be fit for the Falcons. Brown missed almost the entirety of the regular season in Kansas City last year with a shoulder injury and could be looking for a prove-it deal in free agency this year.
