Minister of Irrigation and Water Resources Hani Sweilam said on Sunday 16-2-2025 his ministry is keen on offering all form of support to African brethren through training programs and transfer of Egyptian expertise in the field of modern management of water resources and adaptation to the climate change in the continent.
The minister made statements while receiving a report from Salwa Abul Ela, head of the African Center for Water and Climate Adaptation (PACWA), on the training activities organized by center in the presence of 38 African trainees.
Sweilam pointed out to Egypt’s first National Climate Change Strategy 2050, which includes high-priority projects.
He added that 21 regional training courses were held in 2023 in which 427 trainees attended, addition to 20 training activities in 2025 in the presence of 500 African trainees.
The minister extended thanks to the American University in Cairo (AUC) over its keenness on enhancing cooperation with the ministry on training programs.
