Every team the Kansas City Chiefs faced this season did their best to pressure star quarterback Patrick Mahomes, which meant that standout center Creed Humphrey had his work cut out for him throughout the 2024 season.
Humphrey had the distinction of being the highest-paid center in the NFL for the 2024 season after he signed a four-year $72,000,000 extension with the Chiefs last August.
According to Spotrac, his base salary in 2024 was only $1,125,000, but he was paid a massive $18,000,000 signing bonus.
While this was a historic move by Kansas City, it was logical to invest in securing Humphrey. He has been amazingly reliable, starting more games than almost every other player on the roster since he was drafted in 2021.
Thanks to his dedication, he is earning an average of $18,000,000 per year.
This puts him well ahead of the next best-paid center, Frank Ragnow of the Detroit Lions. Ragnow is a seven-year veteran averaging $13,500,000 every season of his current contract, per Spotrac.
