JUJU Watkins is continued to show out as the best women’s college basketball star in the country.
After a breakout freshman season in March Madness last year, Watkins is taking her game to another level.
On Thursday, Watkins achieved something that has never been done in Division 1 men’s or women’s basketball, the WNBA, or the NBA this century.
Watkins recorded a game with 35+ points, 10+ rebounds, 5+ assists, 5+ blocks, and 5+ threes made.
Not only that, but she did it against No. 1 ranked UCLA.
That monster game pulled her averages for the season up to 24.5 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game.
“Honestly,” senior center Clarice Akunwafo said, “JuJu is amazing.”
No one on the court was able to stop Watkins, as she scored 11 points in the first quarter and 14 in the second.
“I didn’t teach JuJu any of that,” USC coach Lindsay Gottlieb said.
“Just try to put her in situations to be her best self, and she does most of that work.
“What I was so impressed with tonight, obviously, was just the mentality she came out with.”
In the fourth quarter of the game, Watkins registered three blocks in the course of just one minute.
She had eight total blocks in the game.
“It’s whatever it takes to win,” Watkins said.
“I didn’t plan on having that many blocks, but it’s whatever we need to win.
“I’m really just like a kid out there and living out my dream.
“When you have people like that show up, you can’t disappoint.”
