Report: Jaguars make another addition to Liam Coens offensive coaching staff

The Jacksonville Jaguars are reportedly making another addition to their offensive coaching staff under head coach Liam Coen.

According to Jonathan Jones of CBS Sports, the Jaguars are hiring Fred Walker as an offensive assistant.

Walker has spent the last three seasons with the Las Vegas Raiders. From 2022-2023, he was an offensive assistant coach and this past season, he was the assistant quarterbacks coach.

Walker’s specific role with the Jaguars isn’t known, but given his more recent role, and the fact that Jacksonville doesn’t have that spot on the coaching staff filled, perhaps Walker will be working with quarterbacks coach Spencer Whipple in an assistant role.

Below is the known Jaguars’ coaching staff on the offensive side of the football:

Liam Coen, Head coach Grant Udinski, Offensive coordinator Shane Waldron, Pass game coordinator Spencer Whipple, Quarterbacks coach Edgar Bennett, Wide receivers coach Richard Angulo, Tight ends coach Chad Morton, Running backs coach John Van Dam, Offensive pass game specialist Tyler Tettleton, Assistant wide receivers coach

Priority No. 1 for the Jaguars’ new coaching staff is to help get quarterback Trevor Lawrence back to producing at a high level.

Accomplishing this will include building the offense around Lawrence with his input, being “multiple,” as Grant Udinski put it, and having a running game to lean on and keep the offense out of predictable passing situations.
