Gabi Moseley (Shanola Hampton) will not be going to prison on Found, at least not in the immediate future. She and the M&A team may be ecstatic that she's a free woman and can continue working on cases. But not going to jail does not necessarily mean that she's free, especially when Sir (Mark-Paul Gosselaar) is the reason she won't face time.
If Sir wanted revenge for Gabi keeping him captive in her basement for months, he had the opportunity to tell Trent (Brett Dalton) everything that went down between him and his former student. Instead, Sir denied that Gabi ever did anything wrong. Without his victim testimony, the DCPD was forced to drop the charges against Gabi because no prosecutor would pursue the case if Sir denied any wrongdoing. In Sir's mind, he's just made the ultimate gesture for Gabi, but there are always ulterior motives with him.

"He’s thinking it gives him more control. He’s helping her," Gosselaar told Parade. "He’s making sure that she’s safe, and by doing that, he thinks that he’s more in control, and she’ll turn around and thank him, and then they can be on their merry way."
His statement allowed Gabi to walk free, but she won't be sending any thank you cards to his cell any time soon. It's actually put Gabi even more on high alert when it comes to him.
"Gabi doesn’t see it as a favor," Hampton elaborated. "She sees it more as a punishment because the only thing she wants is penance. She wants to pay for what she did so she can move on with her life. She feels like that is the only way that she can heal, so while some are like, ‘That’s so sweet of him,’ she’s thinking, ‘What does he want?’"

What Sir wants is a great question that hasn't really been answered on Found. He wants Gabi to admit they're a "family." But what does the kidnapper's endgame actually look like?
"I think her being away from M&A and traveling the world, experiencing art and reading. He wants them to experience everything they talked about when he was her teacher in school," Gosselaar explained. "He has this fantasy of them enjoying life and being partners. To be honest with you, I don’t know other than he just wishes that they could be together and in each other’s company without all this other silliness that he thinks of, like M&A and whatever else is going on in her life."

While Sir is daydreaming about him and Gabi checking out museums and galavanting around Europe, he's actually in jail. The episode closed with SIr behind bars. In many ways, this takes the show back to square one, even if the setting is different.
"We’re back in the basement, but just in different terms," Gosselaar said of the new setup. "Was he resigned to being in the basement, or were the wheels turning, or a little bit of both? It’s the same thing. We’re just back in the basement, in a way."
So now we have to see how Gabi reacts to the new parameters of their relationship, but it's clear the cat-and-mouse game between these two is not over yet.
Found continues Thursdays at 10 p.m. ET on NBC. Episodes are available the next day on Peacock.
