Report: Jaguars making change at head strength and conditioning coach

The Jacksonville Jaguars are continuing to reshape their staff under new head coach Liam Coen.

According to John Shipley of Jaguars on Sports Illustrated, the team is parting ways with their director of strength and conditioning coach Cedric Scott.

Scott has been the Jaguars’ director of strength and conditioning since 2022 when he was promoted to that role when Doug Pederson took over as the head coach.

Scott had been in the Jaguars’ organization since 2012, working under five different head coaches during that span as the assistant strength and conditioning coach.

Before that, he was on the Southern Miss strength and conditioning staff from 2009-2011.

Shipley also adds that finding the new strength and conditioning coach appears to fall under Executive Vice President Tony Boselli’s job description, although I would imagine that Coen will be a part of that search as well.

The Jaguars announced Coen’s coaching staff last week, but additions still may be coming. In addition to now having to find a new strength and conditioning coach, it was reported that the Jaguars’ recently interviewed James Madison’s offensive coordinator Dean Kennedy.

The Jaguars are also in the midst of their search for their next general manager as well–a role they reportedly hope to have filled some time next week.
