TLC viewers were introduced to Shauna Rae in the reality series I Am Shauna Rae in 2022. Due to pituitary dwarfism, she stands at 3 feet, 10 inches, and weighs roughly 50 pounds despite being a 25-year-old woman. Recently, Shauna opened up about why she doesn't show her boyfriend's face on social media.
On the Jan. 29 episode of The Unplanned Podcast, Shauna spoke about infertility, a past abusive relationship and why she keeps her significant other away from the public eye.

"Neither one of us care if his face is out there," Shauna explained. "I'm more worried because he has a nice work job. I don't want anything going bad to the job."

Shauna said her boyfriend's job knows who she is and is supportive of their relationship. However, the couple is aware that folks online would make assumptions if they went public—because as Shauna has said before, she lives life "trapped in the body of an 8-year-old."
"With everything that social media is and everything I know my boyfriend isn't, I just don't want him to be labeled something and him not be my partner forever," she said on the podcast. "At this point, unless I'm marrying him or spending the rest of my life with him, his face isn't going to be shown."
Shauna concluded, "Because if we break up tomorrow, his face being out there, his life is still ruined. It's still different. And that's not fair with him."

In October 2024, Shauna and her boyfriend celebrated two years of dating.
The Season 2 finale of I Am Shauna Rae aired in January 2023, and TLC has neither announced its renewal nor its cancellation. Both seasons are available to stream on Max.
