National Weather Service Greeley and Weld County in winter weather advisory into late Wednesday morning

Most of Colorado is under a winter weather advisory into late Wednesday morning with varying ranging snow totals and cold temperatures, the National Weather Service’s Denver-Boulder Forecast Office said Tuesday.

Weld County is included in the advisory, which appears to focus more on cold than snow totals locally. The forecast at the Greeley-Weld County Airport calls for 1-3 inches of snow Tuesday night with a low temperature of zero.

The advisory extends to 11 a.m. Wednesday with a high near 13-degrees and a wind chill value as low as minus 15.

There is a 70% chance of precipitation Wednesday, but less than one-half inch is possible.

The cold will continue into Wednesday night and Thursday, the National Weather Service said. The low Wednesday night could drop to minus 10 with wind chills down to minus 17.

Sunny skies will return Thursday with a high of 28.

A warm-up is predicted for later in the week. The high could reach near 46 degrees Friday with a slight chance of rain and snow after 11 a.m.
