The Kansas City Chiefs continue fixing their offensive tackle issues with duct tape and bubblegum. It’s time for the organization to get serious about solving their problem with a lineman they feel comfortable giving a second contract. Only a few offensive tackles in the 2025 NFL draft have that level of upside.
Membou is 6’3 3/4″, 332lbs. with 33 1/8″ arms, which checks the boxes for an offensive tackle prospect. Some analysts speculated about him playing guard at the next level, but this draft desperately needs quality offensive tackle play.
Membou’s explosive kick step gains the width and depth to counter wide-alignment rushers. He adjusts his footspeed and tempo to mirror the pass rusher and displays surprising nimbleness for a lineman with such a thick frame. Membou flashes a powerful outside hand that he uses to land the first punch and re-route the defender.

Membou’s strike timing and placement improved throughout 2024. He allowed fewer defenders into his chest compared to previous seasons and won the leverage battle more often. His hands are quite as sudden or heavy as other linemen in this class, but there’s still room for him to sharpen them with private and professional coaching.
Membou frames blocks well and deploys counters to break the defender’s long-arm. He uses a snatch-trap to take down aggressive bull rushers.
Membou’s frame is slightly high-cut, which leads to some waist bending. He’s a young prospect who is still learning to maximize his anchor and hands in pass protection. Membou is inconsistent at redirecting to close the B-gap against inside counters.
Membou doesn’t provide consistent impact in the run game. Sometimes he appears disengaged as a run blocker, leading to him slipping off blocks or whiffing on assignments. He takes poor angles to blocks and leans or lunges into defenders, opening him to swim counters. Membou needs to provide a more consistent mauling presence.
When fully engaged, Membou creates a run blocking highlight reel that challenges some of the top maulers in the country. He looks for pancake opportunities, generates significant vertical displacement and completely washes away defenders on down blocks. Membou needs to provide that level of effort consistently in the NFL.

Membou enters the pre-draft process as one of the favorites to be the top offensive lineman selected. It seems unlikely the Chiefs have a path to land him, but a trade might put Membou back on the table for Kansas City.
