Denver’s Office of the Medical Examiner on Friday announced skeletal remains found last year near Cherry Creek are those of an Indigenous woman who had been missing since May.
The remains of Marcie Fairchild, 56, were discovered in October near Cherry Creek South Drive and Holly Street.
Colorado’s Bureau of Investigation had previously published an alert regarding Fairchild’s disappearance, identifying her as a member of the Cheyenne and Arapaho tribes and saying she was last seen in the 1400 block of Poplar Street.
The Office of the Medical Examiner said the cause and manner of Fairchild’s death remain under investigation.
