Sharpe and Barry Sanders are on that short list of players on rival teams who I grew up wishing played for my favorite squad. ESPN’s Adam Schefter (via Twitter/X) notes that the list of players who are entering their first year of eligibility for the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s class of 2026 includes Larry Fitzgerald, Drew Brees, and Frank Gore. The Pittsburgh Steelers are playing a game in Dublin in 2025. That’s neat. It won’t be against the Bears. When the Bears and Steelers square off this season, the game will be played at Soldier Field. I’d like to think that being a few years (and one failed coaching regime later) removed from the Nagy era would give fans a different perspective on what that experience was like from 2018-21. To be clear, it wasn’t the best. But it certainly wasn’t as bad as some made it out to be in the moment. Maybe the big takeaway from the last seven years is that it can always get worse.
