A HUGE TV series hosted by a legendary WWE star has been axed after just two seasons.
Away from the ring, John Cena has established himself as an actor and host.
The 16-time world champion’s game show Wipeout is soon coming to an end.
Two seasons have already aired – but its last episodes will be airing in due course.
Meanwhile, the format sees contestants compete in the gruelling “world’s largest” obstacle course – hoping to win $50,000.
Cena began hosting the revived Wipeout on TBS in 2021, along with Nicole Byer and Camille Kostek,
It originally aired on ABC from 2008 to 2014, spanning seven seasons in total.
John Anderson and John Henson respectively were the show’s initial hosts.
As reported by Deadline, Jason Sarlanis, President of TNT, TBS, TruTV, ID & HLN, Linear and Streaming at Warner Bros. Discovery, addressed the show’s future.
Referring to both Wipeout and Dwayne Wade’s The Cube, he said: “Those are very much in the realm of what we do.
“Wipeout is inherently comedic and a joy to watch.
“But I think what we’re what we’re looking at is being realistic in terms of the entire environment. We have to recalibrate.”
Last year, Cena revealed how he had been homeless before achieving worldwide fame as a WWE Superstar.
He first pursued a wrestling career in 1999 – having relocated from West Newbury, Massachusetts to California.
The 47-year-old told ex-NFL star Shannon Sharpe’s Club Shay Shay podcast: “I was homeless by choice.
“I don’t regret those days. The struggle is a lot more entertaining when you want to do it.
“A tough practice is more rewarding when you know, ‘This is the work I have to do to get to the goal’.”
After debuting on WWE‘s main roster in 2002, Cena’s glittering career has seen him win numerous titles.
In October 2024, the star shared he would be retiring from the ring for good in 2025.
Most recently, he finished as the runner-up in the 2025 Men’s Royal Rumble match.
