EDITOR’S NOTE: The following is a summary of crime reports taken from the Greeley Police Department’s daily logs. Only a few of the hundreds of reports will be used in this weekly column because of space limitations.
Jan. 18
3:30 a.m.: A caller in the 1200 block of 10th Street reported he didn’t know how to unlock his door and couldn’t get into his apartment.
9:00 a.m.: A caller at a restaurant at an unknown address reported a woman who worked next door came in and threw a pretzel at the caller because it had been cooked too long.
9:00 p.m.: A caller at a hotel in the 700 block of 8th Street reported a drunk man walking around the hotel, who threatened to “slice” the caller when he asked him to leave.
11:30 p.m.: A caller at an ice skating rink in the 900 block of 8th Avenue reported a man urinated on his vehicle’s tire in the parking lot.
Jan. 19
8:30 a.m.: A caller in the 2900 block of 42nd Avenue reported the neighbors put spikes on their fence to combat squirrels. The caller kept finding dead and injured squirrels in her yard and wanted to know if it was legal.
9:00 a..m.: A caller at a park in the 1600 block of Glenmere Boulevard reported a turkey that was wrapped in a fishing net.
2:00 p.m.: A caller in the 900 block of 49th Avenue reported the car behind them jumped the curb, hit a city light pole, then took off. Another call regarding the incident reported the car also knocked down a stop sign as it drove away.
Jan. 20
2:45 a.m.: A caller at a hotel in the 2400 block of 29th Street reported a vehicle parked outside the hotel had been running for the past five hours.
1:30 p.m.: A caller at a truck repair shop in the 2800 block of 1st Avenue reported a Spanish-speaking woman was in the truck driver’s lounge and refused to leave.
3:15 p.m.: A caller at an unknown address reported her 11-year-old had been talking about running away. The caller said her child had made it as far as opening the window.
11:30 p.m.: A caller at an unknown address reported she had been arguing with her husband all day and she didn’t want him at the house anymore.
Jan. 21
5:00 a.m.: A caller at an unknown address reported her teenage daughter snuck out to hang out with adults and just returned to the house intoxicated.
4:15 p.m.: A caller at an unknown address reported one bus clipped another bus’s bumper. Students were on board, but nobody was injured.
10:00 p.m.: A caller in the 400 block of 14th Avenue kept telling the call taker he had “a situation” and needed the police.
11:45 p.m.: A caller at a trailer park in the 1800 block of 2nd Avenue said officers were driving through the trailer park and wanted to know if he should be worried for his family.
