The Chicago Bulls have reportedly reached an extension with Lonzo Ball on the eve of the NBA trade deadline.
Amid ongoing trade rumors surrounding the veteran point guard, Chicago Sports Network’s K.C. Johnson was the first to share that Ball was finalizing the deal. The extension will reportedly be worth $20.0 million over the next two years.

Lonzo Ball came into this week as a mainstay in trade rumors. HoopsHype’s Michael Scotto named the Memphis Grizzlies, Detroit Pistons, Minnesota Timberwolves as just a few of the teams who were reportedly showing interest in the 25-year-old earlier this week.
However, at the same time, news surfaced on Tuesday that Arturas Karnisovas was not eager to trade him and could even attempt to re-sign him in the offseason. Ball has been in the thick of a stunningly impressive comeback campaign after two-plus years rehabbing a knee injury. His most recent surgery was a cartilage transplant, which is a procedure no NBA player has ever come back from.
The Bulls have approached his return with an abundance of caution, only recently updating his minutes to 28 minutes a night and holding him out of back-to-back sets. Over his 29 games so far this season, he is averaging a well-balanced 7.5 points, 3.5 assists, 3.4 rebounds, and 1.5 steals.
More thoughts to come.
