Downtown Greeley will host the third annual Freezy Daze on Saturday.
The free event will run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. with buy-one-get-one deals at local businesses and artisan booths.
Among the more than two dozen deals are BOGO cocktails at 477 Distilling, BOGO on select records and CDs at Downtown Sound, BOGO ax throwing at the Greeley Hatchet House, a free gift with purchases of $25 or more at Makers Mercantile & Studio, BOGO tender boxes at Sexy Sammies and much more.
A Downtown Bingo Card event is also on the agenda, with participants getting the chance to win a Downtown Greeley-themed gift basket for a family of four. Bingo participants must be 21 and older to enter.
Activities at Freezy Daze will include a petting zoo, wood artistry, face painting, ice- and wood-carving and more. Two busking locations will also be set up for performers on the 8th and 9th street plazas.
Guests will be able to build their own Lego trains and see them go at the Greeley History Museum, 714 8th St.
Despite the event’s name, this year’s Freezy Daze is forecast to get mild weather, with a high near 51 amid sunny skies and breezy conditions.
Gii Astorga started the event with the help of Aimee and Bob Hutson, owners of Aunt Helen’s Coffee House. Astorga is the Downtown Development Authority’s business engagement and event coordinator.
“The biggest thing for me is making sure that people know that Greeley is a unique place, but it’s a unique place in the greatest of ways,” Astorga said at last year’s event. “This community … it’s something I think a lot of people don’t appreciate or, maybe, even know about for that matter, so I’m going to do whatever I can to make sure that Greeley gets the spotlight and people realize it’s a hidden gem.”
