The Arizona State football program has landed a commitment from 2026 four-star tight end recruit Israel Briggs, he announced on Instagram.
Briggs chose ASU over offers from UCLA, Texas A&M, Oregon, Cal and Miami.
The 6-foot-5, 200-pounder out of Redwood High School is the sixth-highest ranked tight end in the class by 247 Sports and is California’s 11th ranked prospect.
Put me anywhere on the field. I can get the job done. Whether it’s RB|QB|TE|WR|KR it don’t matter!!! pic.twitter.com/gYzlKh4aUM

He marks Arizona State’s second California commitment in the class after fellow tight end prospect Hayden Vercher landed on the Sun Devils this past Sunday.
Briggs is also ASU’s third pass catcher in the class alongside Vercher and wide receiver Cooper Reid.
While Briggs was used as a receiver, safety, cornerback and return man, he’s better suited as a tight end, according to 247 Sports’ Greg Biggins:
(Tight end is) where he’s predominately being recruited. He totaled 44 catches for 571 yards and eight touchdowns and you can see the basketball background in his game as he’s a fluid athlete who wins 50-50 balls and is able to easily track the ball down the field. He runs well after the catch, can make defenders miss in the open field and is a willing blocker as well with a nice edge in his game. Scholarship offers have come in from all over the country and he’s easily among the more intriguing athletes in the ’26 West Coast class.
