February 4, 2025 (OMDURMAN) – At least 44 civilians were killed or wounded on Tuesday in Omdurman, Sudan, when artillery shelling by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) struck Al-Nao Hospital, according to the Khartoum State Ministry of Health. This is the second time the hospital and its surrounding area in the Al-Thawra district of Kerry locality in northern Omdurman have been hit by shelling. On Sunday, shelling on the Souk Saberine marketplace and nearby residential areas killed around 60 people and injured more than 100. Khartoum State Health Minister Fatah al-Rahman Mohamed al-Amin told Sudan Tribune that the RSF shelling near al-Nao hospital in northern and western Omdurman killed six people and injured 38 others. He said the injured ranged from critical to lightly wounded. Local sources said civil activist al-Sadiq Haydar was among those killed in the hospital attack. Military intelligence officers questioned two activists working at the hospital after the shelling, including Moumin Wed Zaynab, who had appealed on social media for help treating the wounded, sources said.
