TRAVIS Kelce has seriously beefed up security at his Kansas City mansion following last year’s horror break-in.

The U.S. Sun exclusively revealed last October that Kelce was floored after thieves smashed their way into his sprawling Leawood pad and stole some cherished jerseys and jewelry.

    SUPERSTAR BREAK-INS

Close pal Patrick Mahomes was also targeted on the same day by what NFL chiefs described as a “transnational crime ring.”

But a well-placed source close to the Chiefs legend told The U.S. Sun that Kelce has invested $40,000 in a new alarm system and extra security.

The insider says the installations were completed at the start of 2025 and are now fully operational at his $6 million home.

Girlfriend Taylor Swift was “thankful” that none of her belongings had been taken.

Kelce, however, is “still really bothered” by the incident and is determined to prevent it from happening again.

“Travis felt the urgency of taking care of this situation as soon as possible,” the source told The U.S. Sun. “It was very uncomfortable to deal with.”

In the wake of the robberies, NFL bosses issued a memo to team security directors and the NFLPA, warning that organized and skilled burglary groups are increasingly targeting professional athletes’ homes across various sports leagues.

The U.S. Sun spoke to former LAPD and NYPD cops who suggested these groups – possibly emanating from South and Central America – were able to infiltrate alarm systems and complete their robberies within 15 minutes.

Players were advised to be cautious about their social media activity, particularly avoiding posts showcasing expensive items such as jewellery and designer clothing.

League security also recommended installing alarm systems, cameras, and motion-sensor lights.

    SAFETY STEPS

They warned that burglars often conduct extensive surveillance, using tactics like fake home deliveries, posing as maintenance workers, or even jogging in the area.

Kelce certainly followed orders. The source says the three-time Super Bowl-winning tight end has 10 cameras at his property, new lights, movement detectors, and two dogs — a German Shepherd and an Anatolian Shepherd — at a total cost of $9,000.

In the aftermath of the robberies, he also hired two security guards at a cost of $6,000 a month.

“Travis decided to do things the best way, investing money on alarms and security personnel and dogs to put himself in the safest situation possible,” added the insider.

“All he wants is to be safe.”

    NFL WARNS OF CRIME RING

THE NFL issued an alert to team security directors and the player's union about criminals targeting the homes of professional athletes.

Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs were both victims of burglaries on consecutive days in October 2024.

The following month, the home of former Minnesota Vikings defensive tackle Linval Joseph – now of the Dallas Cowboys – was burglarized.

Then, in early December, Cincinnati Bengals QB Joe Burrow’s home was broken into.

Days after Christmas, Luka Dončić and Dak Prescott’s girlfriend were both targeted.

The FBI is investigating the burglaries as part of an international organized crime ring.

The NFL Players Association and team security forces have both been monitoring the crimes, believed to be tied to a South American crime syndicate.

It is believed that the thieves often burglarize homes on game days when the players are not there.

They quickly steal items such as cash, jewelry, watches, and handbags.

At the time, NFL Security put out a statement warning players not to post on social media in real-time while reminding them to install security systems and keep valuables out of plain sight.

The U.S. Sun exclusively revealed that Kelce’s agony was soothed by his kind-hearted team-mates and friends, who clubbed together to replace some of his stolen memorabilia, including the shirt worn during his first Super Bowl win over the San Francisco 49ers five years ago.

He was gifted jerseys from fellow NFL legend Tom Brady and current stars like Saquon Barkley, whom he will face next week in New Orleans in the battle to land a historic three-consecutive championships.

Swift is currently enjoying some rest and relaxation following the end of her blockbuster Eras tour, and Kelce was keen to keep everyone safe.

“Travis’ house is a sanctuary for him and his family and loved ones,” confirmed the source. “He doesn’t want to go through a bad situation like the robbery ever again.”

    NFL 'DOING ITS BEST:' SOURCES

One member of an NFL team board exclusively told The U.S. Sun:

It’s the main topic of discussion right now, and that is getting a bit of heavy to be honest with you.

All the players talk to us about it, and we had memos, many advices but still we haven’t put any hold on this situation as the whole scheme seems very well organized and that worries players and their entourage.

We are doing out best to help, and telling the guys to be careful, to not expose their stufff on social media, and to make sure that all their alarm systems and security are perfectly working and to not underestimate the power of those criminal groups, that seem to know what they are doing and target many players and places.

Every player is aware and is concerned with the situation, and we have to find solutions and stop this very soon, as it’s gets very frustrating and creates a bit of tension for the players and their families and entourage.
