Angel Reese is returning to her old stomping grounds.
The emerging WNBA superstar will return with the Chicago to Louisiana State University for an exhibition matchup against the Brazilian National Team. The contest is set for May 2 at 7:00 p.m. CT. Reese joins fellow star and college rival Caitlin Clark in returning to their alma mater. The Indiana Fever also announced this week that they will face off against the Brazilian National Team at Carver-Hawkeye Arena on May 4.

Of course, Angel Reese’s rise to fame largely began with her elite play for the LSU Tigers. After transferring to the program following two years at Maryland, she went a combined 65-8 during her two full seasons with the program. Reese averaged 20.9 points, 14.4 rebounds, and 1.9 steals over the course of her 69 games played.
The 22-year-old also led the Tigers to their first national championship victory during the 2022-23 season. She led the NCAA in total rebounds and free throws that season, as well as finished fifth in total points scored. While her senior season at LSU came with slightly less success, she still managed to make a run to the Elite 8 and finish among the NCAA’s top performers. This is ultimately why the Chicago Sky went ahead and selected her 7th overall in the 2024 WNBA Draft.
The battle in the Bayou should also be special for 2024 NCAA Champion and Sky center Kamilla Cardoso. The Brazilian native will have a chance to compete against her own national team.
