The Athletics announced that they have acquired catcher Jhonny Pereda from the Marlins. The Fish, who designated him for assignment earlier this week, receive cash considerations. The A’s designated fellow backstop Kyle McCann for assignment in a corresponding move. Daniel Álvarez-Montes of El Extrabase reported that the A’s were acquiring Pereda prior to the official announcement.
