Egypt secured fifth place at the World Men’s Handball Championship, with their final ranking determined by Portugal’s historic semi-final qualification against Germany.
This result placed Germany sixth and Egypt fifth.
This is the second-best position for the Egyptian national team in the history of its participation in the World Championships, after achieving fourth place in the 2001 championship, according to Pulse Mubasher.
Egypt lost to its French counterpart with a score of 34-33 yesterday, Tuesday, in the quarter-finals of the World Men’s Handball Championship currently held in Croatia, Denmark and Norway.
The “Pharaohs” team aimed to make history in the World Cup and overcome the “Roosters”, one of the most prominent candidates to win the world title.
