Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly announced on Tuesday during his speech with members of the specialized advisory committees that Egypt seeks to “attract 30 million tourists in 2030.”
He explained that Egypt originally aimed to reach 18 million tourists last year, which was hampered by regional issues.
“We were only able to achieve 15 million tourists, which is (still) the highest achieved by Egyptian tourism,” he said.
“Tourism has flourished in the past period and the average spending per tourist is $950, and despite that, not all revenues have entered the Egyptian banking system, and we need to enter the revenues in hard currency to Egypt,” he added.
