SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - The USDA’s LFPA program and the Foodbank of Santa Barbara County are working to strengthen the local food system.
They’re doing this by connecting local farmers directly with underserved communities.
Through a “farm-to-table” approach, the Foodbank sources 5,000-7,000 pounds of fresh, organic produce weekly from local growers.
This ensures a steady market for farmers and nutritious food for families in need.
This initiative fosters sustainable local food relationships and bolsters community access to healthy, locally-grown options.
