Frasier Star Kelsey Grammer Sends Scathing Message to Los Angeles Officials Following Devastating Fires

Kelsey Grammer is sending a message to Los Angeles officials after multiple deadly wildfires broke out earlier this month.

The Frasier star, 69, didn't mince words while speaking to Fox News Digital about the matter on Tuesday, Jan. 28.

"I've always been a little bit on the more conservative side of things politically around here, so that shift seems to be unfolding because of … I guess you'd call it malfeasance in office," Grammer told the outlet.

"I mean, I don't really know what else to say, but somebody took their eye off the ball, and there's probably going to be some accountability for that. But you never know in California," he added.

While Grammer didn't hold back in his criticisms about the state and city responses to the blazes, he also shared that he is "devastated" by the "human loss" and "loss of life."

The actor, who has been "quietly volunteering" amid the devastation, continued, "When you lose everything you have, and that's happened to me a couple of times in my lifetime, it's just [like], OK, that's [when] you pick up, and you figure out what's going to happen next, one foot in front of the other. That's how it has to be."

He concluded, "For many, they're going to want to find a new way to live, a new way forward, a new place to live. But I know a lot of people want to stay, and I wish them well with it. And I'm certainly going to do everything I can to help."

Since breaking out across Southern California on Jan. 7, the fires, fueled by drought conditions and strong Santa Ana winds, have decimated parts of Los Angeles, particularly the Pacific Palisades and Altadena.

Over 40,000 acres have been burned and more than 15,000 homes, buildings and other structures were destroyed, with tens of thousands of residents still displaced. At least 29 people have died, per ABC News.
