The DJ, known as DJ TO, was suspended for playing the song Cut Friends by Camouflage.

The artist’s real name was Jason Johnson, and he was the father of LSU star Flau’Jae Johnson.

He was murdered in 2003, just six months before Flau’Jae was born.

The DJ acknowledged that she knew what she was playing during the game too by posting about it on social media.

She responded to an Instagram story that said “playing Camouflage at the end of the game was crazy,” by saying “my bad” with a laughing emoji.

Johnson was clearly upset by her opponent taunting her with the song and posted about the incident on X.

“I’ll take my L on the chin, but this just nasty behavior,” she wrote.

    “Nun funny bout that.”

The South Carolina athletic department was quick to take action over the incident and released a statement about the DJ’s actions that were “disrespectful to the LSU program and fans.”

“We are addressing Friday night’s inappropriate in-game song selection and subsequent Instagram post by the DJ who is hired to work our women’s basketball games,” the statement read.

“Her actions were understandably upsetting to Flau’Jae Johnson and her family and disrespectful to the LSU program and fans.

“Conference rivalries and passionate fan bases should only serve to enhance sports, not be used to target individual players personally.

“We regret that it came to that in our venue after a game that saw both teams capture the level of national attention that women’s basketball has earned, and we apologize to Flau’Jae, her family and LSU.

“As a result of her actions, DJ T.O. will be suspended for the next women’s basketball home game, and we will meet with her to provide further education on our expectations of her in the future.”

Basketball fans came out in support of Flau’Jae on social media and shared how upset they were about the DJ’s actions.
