The Philadelphia Eagles brushed aside the Washington Commanders to reach Super Bowl LIX in style.
You could argue the writing was already on the wall when Saquon Barkley ran in a 60-yard touchdown on their first offensive play.
By the end of the evening, Barkley and Jalen Hurts had both scored hat-tricks on the ground with the Eagles racking up a Championship Game-record 55 points.
After going 14-3 in the regular season, Philadelphia has looked like a force to be reckoned with in the playoffs, beating the Green Bay Packers, Los Angeles Rams and Commanders.
After losing out to the Chiefs in the Super Bowl two years ago, the Eagles capitulated down the stretch last season despite a strong start, losing to Tampa Bay in the wild card round.
A dominant season had them in the mix for the No1 seed throughout, but eventually they took the second seed and have underlined their credentials.
Credentials that were obvious to everybody — everybody except Fox Sports host Terry Bradshaw, apparently.
“How unexpected is this?” Bradshaw asked owner Jeffrey Lurie live from the podium after Eagles legend Nick Foles presented the NFC Championship trophy.
“Well, it’s kind of expected, I think,” a confused Lurie replied.
Fans took to social media to defend their team.
“Bradshaw saying unexpected? Pretty sure most folks had the Eagles in at least the NFC Championship game,” a fan wrote on X.
“Terry Bradshaw is insufferable. Picked all 3 teams we played in the post to beat us, and then asked the owner ‘How unexpected was this’ – go back to Pittsburgh. You only won rings because of your defense,” another added.

Jalen Hurts could not be stopped through the air or on the groundGettyA third posted: “So how unexpected is it that your second-seeded, 14-3 team made the Super Bowl?”
The Eagles went into their games against the Packers, Rams and Commanders as favorite.
In a run stretching back to 1994, 18 of the last 19 QBs to lose their Super Bowl debut never made it back for another attempt.
But Hurts snapped that streak and will now take on the Buffalo Bills or Kansas City Chiefs.
The quarterback has had his fair share of doubters and head coach Nick Sirianni’s response was as emphatic as Lurie’s.
“How about our quarterback? How about our quarterback?” Sirianni said as Bradshaw interviewed him. “Don’t doubt him! All he does is win.”
Hurts threw for 246 yards and a score, as well as the three he picked up on the ground.
And he credited his coach for letting him unleash his arm in a comment that could have contained a hint of spite.
“He did a great job. I guess he let me out of my straight jacket a little bit today,” Hurts said after a brilliant performance.
