A woman was stabbed to death in San Juan Capistrano on Saturday night and a 25-year-old relative was arrested, sheriff’s officials announced on Sunday, Jan. 26.
Around 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call about an assault at the 32000 block of Valle Road. They found a woman in her 50s suffering from multiple stab wounds.
Shortly after their arrival, she was pronounced dead at the scene, the Orange County Sheriff’s Department said in a news release.
A 25-year-old San Juan Capistrano relative was arrested on suspicion of murder, based on interviews and evidence they found at the scene, authorities said.
The circumstances surrounding the stabbing and additional details about the woman and her relationship with the suspect were not released.
The woman’s identification was withheld pending family notification.
