Mark Bowman, an elite tight end prospect and a major target of several SEC schools, has decided to reclassify.
Bowman announced that he will reclassify from the 2027 class to 2026. Seeing football players reclassify is rare. Interested teams will now have less than a year to convince Bowman to come to their school instead of 2.

Other schools on Bowman’s list are Ole Miss, Tennessee, Alabama, USC, Arizona State, Miami, Florida, Oregon, and Ohio State.
Bowman stars for Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana, CA. The 247Sports Composite ranking had Bowman as a 4-star prospect, the No. 1 TE, and the No. 2 player out of California in the 2027 class. It remains to be seen how Bowman’s reclassification will affect his rating in the class of 2026.
The talented pass-catcher has been playing varsity since his freshman season. As a sophomore in 2024, Bowman caught 32 passes for 435 yards and 8 touchdowns. As a freshman in 2023, Bowman caught 11 passes for 125 yards and 4 TDs.
Bowman’s impressive 2024 season helped his team go 13-0 overall, 5-0 in league play, and end with the No. 1 ranking in all of high school football. Scouts see Bowman as capable of playing as a TE or wide receiver in college.
